Lyman Dayton was one of Saint Paul’s founding fathers and came to Saint Paul one year after Anthony Yoerg opened his brewery in 1849. Lyman’s wife Maria Bates Dayton was a well known socialite and both ‘Bates Avenue’ and ‘Maria Avenue’ were named after her. The grand Victorian homes in Dayton’s Bluff need no introduction, and neither does the famous Schoch Building on the corner of 6th Street and Maria. 378/374 Maria is one of the neighborhood’s most cherished buildings, having been built in 1885 and restored in 2004. The architect, A.F. Gauger of Germany, designed a number of Dayton’s Bluff homes and buildings but this was his masterpiece, a brilliant Victorian structure of Brick, Limestone & galvanized iron. We have been called "the most photographic pub in the Twin Cities", and quite simply, you won't find a more comfortable atmosphere in the Twin Cities.
The Yoerg Brewing Company sits in one of Saint Paul's most historic buildings on the Dayton's Bluff hill just outside of Downtown Saint Paul's Lowertown neighborhood. We have two separate areas for private parties, and this room can accommodate 35-45 people. Our room charges are the most reasonable in the Twin Cities with a wonderful, old world catering menu available. Our entire wine/beer/cider menus are always available as well as our superb service.
